通過對油松小孢子葉球性反轉現象的觀察,結果表明:已經完成分化的正常小孢子葉球發生了性反轉,從其頂端的小孢子葉開始向基部逐漸轉變成大孢子葉,直至整個小孢子葉球轉變成異常的大孢子葉球;異常大孢子葉球具有接受花粉的能力,并在枝條上發育成為蔟狀著生的小球果。
